Merry Christmas

My first surgery

Everything started on a Saturday (8) afternoon. We (Andrew, Daphne and I) had lunch, after that we went to Provo to do some stuff. We went to Andrew's brother's home to give them their Christmas present, I was in the car with Daphne waiting for Andrew. When he was coming back to the car, I started to have this pain on my stomach area, but it wasn't that bad, so Andrew started to drive and in less than two minutes I was in soooo much pain, he stopped the car, I got out to see if it would help, but nothing happened, I got back in the car, he gave me a blessing and then we went to the ER. The pain was the worse one I ever had, it hurt a lot more than when I was having contractions to have Daphne.

We stayed in the ER for about 3 hours and the ultrasound showed that I had a gallstone. The only solution so that it doesn't happen again, is to remove it. So they said I had to go to a surgeon and sent me home with pain medicine.

On Tuesday (11) we went to the doctor, he explained how everything was going to be done and we set up the surgery for Thursday, I had to wait for the hospital to call and tell me the time I had to be there.

Thursday (13) morning we left the house around 5:45 a.m., left Daphne at my friend's house and we went to the hospital in Provo. Everyone there was so nice. They prepared me for the surgery and Andrew was with me the whole time. My surgery was set up to start at 7:30 a.m., a few minutes before that my anesthetist came to talk to me, and then he put the anesthesia in my IV and the last thing I remember is Andrew giving me a kiss, I don't have any idea how the operation room looks.. hahaha I woke up in the recovery room and stayed there for about an hour, I really don't remember everything in there either. Then they sent me back to my room and Andrew was there. I stayed there for a couple of hours, then the nurse helped me walk around, they made sure I was doing good and then I was ready to come back home.

I'm doing good at home, it's hard not be able to pick up Daphne, but she has been great with everything. On the day of my surgery I got a basket from a family from our neighborhood and other families are helping with dinner.

Now I don't have a gallbladder anymore, I just have 4 incisions on my belly to remind me how terrible the pain was and that I'll never have to go through that again.

I have to go back to the doctor in two weeks and not lift anything more than 20 pounds for 6 weeks. I'm glad we're going on a vacation in a few days, Andrew always helps me a lot.

We went to the Riverwoods Mall to celebrate the Christmas season, they had 4 million lights, ice sculptures, carriage rides, live bands, giant gingerbread houses, cookies, hot chocolate and Santa Claus. Even though it was raining, we had fun. Daphne was so excited to see everything.

Nós fomos para o Riverwoods Mall para celebrar a época Natalina, lá tinha 4 milhões de luzes, esculturas de gelo, passeios de carruagem, música ao vivo, gigantes cada de gingerbread, cookies, chocolate quente e Papai Noel. Apesar de ter chovido, nós nos divertimos. Daphne estava bem animada para ver tudo.

I don't have a problem with Daphne drawing on the walls (she just did it one time).. but now she decided to draw on herself.. hehehe

Halloween

Our Halloween was a lot of fun.. In the morning I made Halloween pancakes, we watched Halloween cartons. Then Daphne went trick or treating and had a blast, she loved to see all the other kids in their costumes and had a big smile every time someone gave her candy. We came back home and she got really excited when people knocked on the door trick or treating, she always had to give out the candy.

Nosso Dia das Bruxas foi muito divertido.. De manhã eu fiz panquecas de Halloween, nós assistimos filmes de Halloween. Dai Daphne foi fazer doces ou travessuras e ela adorou, ela amou ver as outras crianças vestidas nas fantasias e ela sempre tinha um sorrisão toda vez que alguém dava doces para ela. Nós voltamos para casa e ela ficou muito animada toda vez que alguém batia na porta para doces ou travessuras, ela sempre tinha que dar os doces.

We've been booed!

 Our neighborhood is awesome, they're always nice and during holidays they plan something fun that includes everyone. Now for Halloween they are doing a funny game. Today at my door step someone left a plate with doughnuts and candy and a paper with instructions. After you receive your plate, you need to put the paper at the door so people will know that you received one, and then prepare 2 more plates and leave it at someone's house that didn't receive theirs yet. And you're not suppose to let the people that you're giving the treat know that it is you. Tomorrow is my turn to do that, it's going to be fun.

Utah Jazz vs LA Clippers

Yesterday we had so much fun. In the morning Daphne came to my bed and we got to sleep in together. Andrew came back from the Boys Scout Camp around lunch. We went to Provo to take family pictures, Daphne didn't want to smile to the photographer but I hope we get some cute pictures.. hehehe. After that we went to Cold Stone to met up with a girl I know from Manaus, she is just visiting her boyfriend and it was nice to talk and have fun with them. Then we came back home, changed clothes and went to Salt Lake to watch Utah Jazz play. It was really cool, Daphne loved all the noise and the game.

Ontem nós nos divertimos bastante. Daphne veio para minha cama de manhã e nós dormimos juntas até mais tarde. Andrew voltou do acampamento dos Escoteiros no horário do almoço. Nós fomos para Provo para tirar fotos de família, Daphne não queria sorrir para a fotografa, mas eu espero que consigamos algumas fotos legais.. hehehe Depois disso fomos para Cold Stone para encontrar com uma moça que eu conheço de Manaus, ela veio visitar o seu  namorado, e foi legal conversar e nos divertimos com eles. Depois voltamos para casa, trocamos de roupa e fomos assistir o Utah Jazz jogar. Foi muito legal, Daphne amou todo barulho e o jogo.

Dia das crianças

In Brazil on October 12th we have a "Kids Day". It's really fun, I loved it because in school I use to get candy and most parents give presents to their children. So, I decided to do something fun with Daphne to celebrate it. I took care of my friend's daughter (Sophia) all day, so Daphne had a lot of fun playing with her, in the afternoon we made sugar cookies, watched cartoons, they took a nap an then played some more. Because of the rain we decided to stay home the rest of the day, but the next day we went to the mall and late in the afternoon we went to the movie theater and watched Brave and she LOVED it.

Dia 12 de Outubro no Brasil nós temos o Dia das Crianças. É muito divertido, eu amava porque na escola eu ganhava doces e a maioria dos pais dão presentes para seus filhos. Dai, eu decidi fazer algo divertido com a Daphne para celebrar. Eu tomei conta da filha de uma amiga (Sophia) o dia todo, dai a Daphne se divertiu muito com ela, de tarde nós fizemos cookies, assistimos desenhos, elas tiraram sonecas e depois brincaram um pouco mais. Por causa da chuva nós decidimos ficar em casa o restante do dia, mas no dia seguinte nós fomos ao shopping e no final da tarde nós fomos ao cinema e assistimos Brave e ela amou.

Best Friends

Today we were watching the first session of the General Conference in bed.. halfway through it, Daphne hugged me and then looked at me and said Best Friends!! Then I asked her if I am her best friend and she just smiled and said yes. It just melted my heart!!!! I want to be your best friend forever my little princess.

 Hoje estávamos assistindo a primeira sessão da Conferência Geral na cama.. na metade dela, a Daphne me abraçou e me olhou e disse Melhores Amigas!! Dai eu perguntei dela se eu sou a sua melhor amiga e ela somente sorriu e disse sim. Isso derreteu meu coração!!!! Eu quero ser sua melhor amiga para sempre minha princesinha.

Potty Trained

She's officially potty trained!!! Yayyy. I'm so proud of my big girl. It took a few weeks for her to get used to it.. but now she's doing great.

Ela está oficialmente fora da frauda!!!! Ebaaaa. Eu estou tão orgulhosa da minha mocinha. Demorou algumas semanas para ela se acostumar.. mas algora ela está indo muito bem.
